Some chaotic scenes in Minneapolis as riots break out after the death of an arrested man.
- Lake Rebecca drill and assay reports are in with a significant gold intercept of 22m @ 3.44g/t Au which was returned from below the Maddy mineral structure. The Apollo Consolidated site also shows potential for the Laura structure where the same hole delivered true width 8m @ 2.84g/t Au. Ongoing drilling will take place to get an ideal of the make up of the geology of the area.
- Impact Minerals has made the application for five tenements that will make up the Arkun project. The tenements are within 200km of the Perth metro area between York and Corrigan in the Wheatbelt of WA. Managing Director Dr Mike Jones pointed out the interest in similar styles of mineralisation around Julimar and and Fraser Range and said “Arkun is a highly prospective addition to our exploration portfolio and we acted very quickly when alerted to the opportunity. We now have an exploration project that has excellent underlying fundamentals for the discovery of a major nickel-copper-PGE deposit as well as for the discovery of gold. The area has never been properly explored despite the fact there are regional surface geochemistry anomalies and the area appears to lie on a major regional structure that for the most part has been ignored in the geological studies in the state.” Arkun also have interest around Broken Hill in New South Wales.
- The announcement of the 41km of sealing The Outback Way has Trigg Mining excited. Managing Director Keren Paterson said “This week’s announcement from the WA Government regarding upgrades to the Great Central Road further highlight the outstanding position of the Lake Throssell Sulphate of Potash Project in a world-class mining province just east of Laverton, with high-quality infrastructure and excellent access. The Great Central Road runs adjacent to and right through our tenements, so we are delighted to see this investment in upgrading and enhancing this key piece of regional transport infrastructure.” The road is adjacent to and through the Lake Throssell Sulphate of Potash project.
- A surface geochemistry program at EMetals Nardoo Rare Metals Project has been completed. 670 stream sediment samples, 280 soil samples and 141 rock chip samples were collected in an extensive 16-day field work program. Results of the samples will be known in around four weeks. The project is in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.
- Significant manganese has been intersected at Bryah Resources Horseshoe South Mine. The manganese is located on a granted mining release, allowing a quick re permitting of mining activity. Assay results from drilling at the Windalah gold prospect expected next week.
Manganese results included:
Shallow high-grade manganese recorded beneath the Main Pit.
HSRC038 – 4 metres (9-13m) @ 40.9% Mn, including 2 metres @ 46.0% Mn from 10 m
HSRC035 – 3 metres (5-8m) @ 30.9% Mn, including 1 metre @ 42.9% Mn from 6 m
HSRC026 – 3 metres (8-11m) @ 28.4% Mn, including 1 metre @ 35.0% Mn from 9 m
