Rig Two

Rig 2 is an Atlas Copco ROC L8 Mark 1 and it is designed for both pre-splitting and large scale production work and is the total solution for drilling in quarries, open pit mines and exploration sites. Starting out as a blast hole rig, Rig 2 has had a Reverse Circulation system fitted, but also retains the capacity to be utilized in Down The Hole hammer blast hole drilling.  Rig 2 has ample power, delivered by a turbo charged CAT engine and produce high penetration rates.  The on board carousel has the capacity to hold 54 meters of drill rods and this machine has the ability to load additional rods from the support truck.  This allows us to drill to depths of 100 meters for exploration work, a feature that is un matched by any rig of this size.

Safety features include fully automated rod handling and breakout facilities, full rotational cyclone for ease of leveling and cleaning, dust suppression, fire suppression, Australian standard platforms, ladders and handrails and a complete electrical shutdown system. Coupled with the shutdown system we have a specific electric over hydraulic lock down switching system to allow offsiders to isolate certain hydraulic components while working around them to eliminate any accidental controls eliminating potential injury.

This unit has the complete versatility and ability to work in tight and small operations including close proximity to high walls (2 meters), full mast orientation for pre splits and even horizontal holes for de-watering etc. This is a cab operated machine with optimum visibility and air conditioning for operator comfort  to reduce the risk of heat stress in extreme environments.

These machines are compact weighing in at 27 ton and easily moved from site They are a very popular and sought after machine whether you need a few short water bores drilled right through to 80000 meter grade control programs.
